Bliss Nightclub

New nightclub Bliss for music lovers

Ipswich’s newest nightclub opened in February at Hotel Metropole at the Top of Town. Bliss officially opened on February 8 in the upstairs section of the hotel and has proved to be a popular venue for the city’s young people in recent weeks. Manager Adam Wienke told the media Bliss was a great addition to Ipswich Central and meant young people no longer had to travel to Brisbane to enjoy the nightclub experience.

Opening night was "magnificent", said Metropole's venue manager Adam Wiencke. "The whole hotel was at capacity all night," Mr Wiencke said. "They were lined up from 7pm and we opened at eight. "Saturday was good but not until late." With Bliss in town, people had no need to go to Brisbane, Mr Wiencke said. "We're going to do big acts at least once a month," he said.

Resident DJ Phil Morgan was thrilled to see the 220-capacity nightclub full on opening night. "It was absolutely chockers," Mr Morgan said. "We knew we would be overrun with people. "The line-up went beyond the hotel and across the street. "Nick (Skitz) was very warmly welcomed. He said the energy from the crowd was just amazing." Mr Morgan said Bliss had an atmosphere like clubs in Brisbane and gave Ipswich club patrons a local venue.
