HappeningsMelbourne Cup - Tuesday 7th November, 2006  Starts:
12.00p.m., Arrive: 11.30a.m., finish time approx. 4.00p.m.
Price is $30
a head including complimentary glass of champagne/beer on arrival and a two course
meal. Special all weather marquee will be set up for the day in the beergarden,
with provisions in the bistro and bar for viewing of all races on the day. Prizes
for best dressed, sweeps, fashion parades and of course “The Annual Metro
Cup”. A day and night full of fun and frivolity.

Birthday Celebration - 12th Aug 2006
On 12th Aug 2006 the
Hotel Metropole celebrated its 100th Birthday in style with James
Blundell and friends. Everyone enjoyed a lavish cocktail party with substantial

Christmas in July - 25th Jul 2006 Everyone
was in the mood for jolly old time. People came from far and wide to celebrate
Christmas in July at the Hotel Metropole. The tree was up, the lights were on
and a good time was had by all.
Ipswich Cup - 17th Jun 2006 Hotel
Metropole supplied a free shuttle bus service from the Bundamba race track back
to the Hotel for the punters to party on. They came by the bus load and enjoyed
the rest of the night with live entertainment til late at the Hotel Metropole.

Lehmann Wine Dinner - 6th June 2006
Peter
Lehmann Wines are one of Australia’s most respected and innovative winemakers,
creating wines that delight wine lovers around the globe. Winemaking operations
are carried out at a single site located near Tanunda, in the heart of the internationally
famous Barossa Valley, South Australia. Hotel Metropole had the pleasure
of hosting a Wine Dinner night in honour of Peter Lehmann wines. Guests were served
with fantastic food and Peter Lehmann wine to wash it down.

The Pilot Episode The Beer
Show chose the Hotel Metropole to launch their Internet PodCast show to the world.
Episode 1 went off without a hitch. We had heaps of fun chatting
with the then Hotel Metropole owner Michael Samios and the King of Ipswich, Mayor
Paul Pisasale. They are just a bunch of friends that have a common love
for the stuff, and have embarked on a journey to learn from the experts.  Visit

Melbourne
Cup - 1st Nov 2005 The $5.1 Emirates Melbourne Cup is more
than just a horse race - it is a 145-year old social and cultural tradition that
'stops the nation'. This spectacular event is the focal point of the Melbourne
Cup Carnival. In 2005 the Emirates Melbourne Cup was celebrated at the Hotel
Metropole. Festivities included a fashion parade. (Click
